Why Outsourcing Matters For Entrepreneurs and Small Business

Losing It All – Why Outsourcing Matters For Entrepreneurs and Small Businesses?

In business, things are bound to go wrong, at one point or another. It is just a matter of how wrong things go and when they happen.

Whether it is a problem with a business partner, an employee (or two) that unexpectedly quit, a downturn in the economy, or a product problem that sets you back – you have to be ready for whatever may come your way.

See a few years ago, I learned that lesson the hard way when thousands of units we produced were found to be faulty.

What do you do when everything falls apart?

Imagine here we are one day booming, generating great profits, selling across the country, to literally one random Monday hit with the biggest problem we could ever (and had never) planned for.

Despite everything that was going on, we still had customers looking for the product, we still had to generate sales to make money, and we still had to find a way to market our business.

All the while, figuring out what to do with and how to replace thousands of dollars of inventory.

We didn’t have the time or the money to hire more salespeople. In fact, overnight, we were considering downsizing our staff so we could make ends meet through this unimaginable crisis.

This is where I discovered outsourcing and just how powerful it is.

I was able to instantly tap into the on-demand freelance marketplace and get nearly everything we needed to stay afloat.

In under two weeks, we went from barely being able to keep the doors open to having…

    • Thousands of viable and vetted customer leads for under $200
    • Unprecedented access to media contacts to generate free publicity and marketing
  • All of our marketing done without missing a bit for 85% less than what we were paying

Needless to say, our business actually thrived during this time.

Had we not been agile enough to leverage outsourcing we would have, without a doubt, either suffered a debilitating loss in income or went out of business altogether.

If you read a lot of business books, most will tout that having a strong work ethic or being 100% committed with an insatiable drive is what separates an average entrepreneur from a highly successful one.

I take it a step further and say all of those principles are needed, very much so, but what really sets you on a trajectory of amazing business growth is having something that truly makes you different from your competition.

Outsourcing is that key differentiator that will continually propel your business

In today’s business landscape, if you’re not nimble, agile, lean and always ahead of the innovation curve, you will be left behind.

So, I challenge you to reflect and ask yourself these hard business questions…

Are you tapping into the power of outsourcing?

Is your business positioned today to weather the storm?

If the unexpected happened tomorrow, will you be able to quickly bounce back?

And, if your answers are “no”, then you have to take advantage of two of our free resources.
